5th Annual Her Universe Fashion Show Brings Geek Couture to SDCC

For the 5th year in a row, Thursday night at San Diego Comic-Con was taken over by geek couture thanks to the Her Universe Fashion Show. The annual event aims to bring a New York fashion week style event to the convention every year, proving that geek fashion can be high end and that it is here to stay. This year's theme was "Milestones" and the designers certainly delivered some breathtaking pieces to the event. We've got all the looks right here, plus the three winners who will be creating an Avengers-inspired line for Spring 2019 for Hot Topic.

DC Universe First Look at SDCC

Despite being a huge fan of DC Comics and related properties, when DC Universe was announced, I was skeptical. After all, how many streaming content services do people really need? But now, after previewing the content that will be available, I'm convinced it will be worth the expense. I know I'll be subscribing and eagerly awaiting the launch this September.

Comic-Con Programming and The Planning That Goes With It

We are now just over a week away from Comic-Con International 2018. That means the full programming schedules have been released for the convention. This is certainly a shaping up to be a very different year for the convention: just look at the Hall H and Ballroom 20 programming. With HBO and Marvel (mostly) skipping the annual event, there are large gaps of what generally filled the big rooms. Here are some of the highlights for this year.

Movie Review: Ant Man and the Wasp **SPOILER FREE**

Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018) is fun and entertaining but largely stays away from the intensity of the main Avengers sequence without forgetting that larger world's context. It's the first Marvel movie since Infinity War and thankfully we are handed some lighter fare. If you're looking for a summer comic book movie flick with an ass-kicking female hero, this is the movie for you.

Movie Review: Incredibles 2 *SPOILER FREE*

We've waited 14 years for this film: The Incredibles 2 opens this weekend to about as much anticipation as any Disney/Pixar sequel can have. And while audiences have been waiting over a decade for this one, it seems like Disney has finally decided to go all-in with the Incredible-Family: Disneyland's new "Pixar Pier" opens later this month with the signature featured ride, the "Incredicoaster", occupying a massive footprint on the retooled boardwalk. But enough about that-- let's talk about the movie! And don't worry: this is a spoiler-free zone.
