Follow this step-by-step tutorial to create your very own Harley Quinn look. From the dip-dyed effect bunches to the colourful make-up! #sorrynotsorry
You’re going to need:
- Some clip-in hair extensions
- Curling wand
- Hairbrush
- Fine-toothed comb
- Hair ties
- Blue and pink hair chalks
- An old towel
- Blue and pink eyeshadows in a both light and dark shades
- Eyeshadow brushes
Step 1: Clip in your hair extensions
Kick things off by applying your clip-in hair extensions. This will give you plenty of hair to play with when it comes to creating long, thick bunches. Once applied, brush through your hair so it’s smooth and free from knots.
Step 2: Create your high bunches
Using your comb, trace a line up from the tip of your nose to create a centre parting. Gather up all of the hair on one side of the parting into a high bunch and secure with a hair tie. Then take all of the hair on the other side and create your second bunch.
Top tip – when you chalk your bunches, they’ll move down slightly so make sure they’re good and high to start off with.
Gently pull out a few strands of hair to frame your face.
Step 3: Chalk your hair
Now for the fun part! Lay your towel over your left shoulder and grab your blue hair chalk. Apply it from the ends of your hair to about halfway up your bunch. You want to make sure all of the hairs are covered for that bold Harley Quinn look.
When you’re happy with your colour, move your towel over to the other shoulder and start chalking your other bunch with the pink hair chalk. You can brush it a little as you go along as this will help make sure you’ve covered all of the hair.
Step 4: Curl the ends
Now take your curling wand and wrap strands of hair from the ends of your bunches around it, releasing after a couple of seconds. When you’ve curled all of the tips, gently brush the curls through to separate them.
Step 5: Backcomb your bunches
Make sure your bunches have impact by backcombing them. Just take your comb and push it upwards against your hair for mega volume.
Step 6: Apply your eye make-up
To really capture her wild-eyed menace, you need Harley Quinn eye make-up.
Take a light pink eyeshadow and apply to the lid on the same side as your pink hair. Then apply a more intense, hot pink shade into the crease.
On the other eye, apply a light blue shade all over the lid and a dark blue shade into the crease. Blend both eyes well but don’t worry about being too neat, you want that slightly crazed look.
