Mount Nacho … a mountain so crunchy, so cheesy, and so delicious, few can reach its summit. It’s time to put your adventuring skills to the test and find out if you can conquer Mount Nacho!

Ingredients for Nacho Mountain including shredded cheese, salsa, and avocado in bowls, plus sour cream and Nando's sweet chili jam

Ingredients:

  • Tortilla chips
  • Cheese
  • Sour cream
  • Guacamole – you can make your own by crushing up an avocado and adding some salt and lime. As you can see, I like mine very chunky!
  • Salsa – you can make your own by dicing some tomatoes and adding ingredients such as red onion and lime.
  • Some hot (or not-so-hot) sauce – optional!
  • A cocktail stick
  • Some paper/washi tape

Mount Nacho Recipe Instructions:

Step one – put your tortilla chips in an oven pan/skillet and cover them generously with cheese!

Chips with melted cheese on them in a pot. The cheese got a little toasty. Whoops!

Step two – grill your chips at 200C/390F for 3 or 4 minutes. Take them out and – oops! I left mine in a little too long and burned a few! This is of course an intentional reminder that all adventures include some setbacks we need to overcome…

The chips covered in cheese have been moved to a bowl and piled high!

Step three – hurriedly pick out the burnt ones and pile your nachos up in a bowl. You want to create a mountain-like shape.

Step four – make a tiny flag with a cocktail stick and some washi tape or paper and glue! You could even make a miniature camp or troop flag.

A cute little flag on a toothpick! It's got fruit on it!

Step five – layer up your toppings. Start with guacamole on the bottom, for a nice grassy start to our hike. Next up is sour cream, for the snowy part of the mountain.

Finally, top your mountain with salsa and hot sauce for a volcano surprise! Make sure to add your flag to celebrate your successful mountain adventure.

Congratulations on conquering Mount Nacho, adventurer! Snap a photo of your achievement and share it with your fellow campers in the commissary on Discord, or with @iggppcamp on Twitter.
