May the 4th be with you ! Today is Star Wars Day, which is bittersweet this year because of the passing of Peter Mayhew a couple of days ago. In honour of Peter Mayhew’s character, Chewbacca, and to celebrate Star Wars Day, I made a Star Wars-themed recipe – Chewbacca Peanut Butter Pie!

Supplies

  • graham cracker crust (homemade or store bought)
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 1/4 cups icing sugar
  • 8 oz Cool Whip (whipped dessert topping)
  • chunk of chocolate
  • chocolate ganache or candy melts for decoration

Supplies, including leftover ganache in the bottom right.

Instructions

Have your graham cracker crust ready and cooled. I used a store bought one so it was good to go.

Cream peanut butter and cream cheese together. Then add icing sugar and continue to mix.

Once mixed completely, add in whipped dessert topping and continue to mix until blended.

Spoon peanut butter mixture into crust. Grate your chunk of chocolate over your pie to give the pie texture/Wookiee fur. I used a chocolate bunny we had leftover from Easter.

“Wookiee fur”

Put the pie in the fridge for about 30 minutes to settle.

I had leftover chocolate ganache that I was able to remelt and use for Chewbacca’s belt, but you could melt some chocolate chips or candy melts to get the same texture. Using the melted chocolate, ‘draw’ on Chewbacca’s belt.

Added in – My ganache tried to blend together because it was too runny so I ended up melting some peanut butter candy melts I had on hand to fill in the squares of Chewie’s belt.

Let pie settle in the fridge for at least 2 hours before cutting into it.

Enjoy! This pie is so rich so cut small pieces unless you have a crazy sweet tooth!

Let me know if you try this recipe, with or without Chewbacca’s belt. It’s so easy to make but incredibly satisfying if you want something sweet. Use #Igglenoms on social media to share!

Have a great Star Wars Day! May the 4th be with you!

Thank you for being the best copilot. RIP Peter Mayhew.
