By Rhiannon

This recipe is inspired by the fruit salad recipe from Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which requires an apple, a pear, a peach, an orange, and a cherry. I’ve used the same fruit, but you can switch them out for different ones if your favourite isn’t on the list! This is a simple recipe, perfect for camp breakfasts or when you fancy something fresh between s’mores…

INGREDIENTS

For the salad:
Apple (1)
Pear (1)
Peach (1)
Cherries (a handful!)
OR – ignore this and pick your favourite fruits!

For the dressing:
Sugar or honey (1 tbsp)
Orange (1 – the juice + the zest)

Optional – cream or yoghurt to serve

INSTRUCTIONS

1) To make the dressing, use a grater or zester to get the zest from your orange – add this to a bowl. Squeeze all the juice from the same orange to the bowl. Sweeten the dressing to your taste using sugar or honey – I’ve used a tablespoon of sugar.

2) If you prefer your fruit skinless, skin your fruit (I’ve skipped this because I like the texture). Then, chop the apple, pear, peach and cherries into bitesize pieces. Make sure to remove the cherry stones!

3) Mix your chopped fruit and dressing together.

4) Serve up some fruit salad! You can add an optional dollop of yoghurt or cream.

This recipe makes a few servings, so you can share your fruit salad with a fellow camper or put it in a sealed container in the fridge to enjoy for tomorrow’s breakfast!
