This craft celebrates the colours of the beach, and the satisfying sssccrr sound of tearing paper! Grab your stash of paper, and let’s make some junk collage beachscapes.

SUPPLIES
Paper
Glue/double sided tape
A mix of paper ephemera (colourful/patterned paper, old letters, tickets, packaging, magazines, etc)

INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1) Gather your paper ephemera. This can be all sorts of things! It’s a great opportunity to reuse things like packaging and old magazines. I’ve got some old bookmarks and the pictures that came in picture frames too.
Step 2) Find your beach colours. We’re looking for blue for the sea and yellow for the sand. If you want to get more colourful, you could add in some extra colours for a sunset/sunrise sky (e.g. pinks and oranges) and/or features like plants to adorn your beachscape.

Step 3) Get tearing! Tear up your chosen ephemera into strips that fit on your paper, and sort them into colour piles. For the sea, tearing messily will get you that wonderful bit of white, which looks like waves!

Step 4) Get sticking! Stick your strips down in colour blocks. You want the bottom half of your page to be yellow for the sand, and the top half to be blue for the sea. Layer your strips so you get full coverage, with none of the background paper peeking through.

Step 5) Optional – add any extras. I tore out these plant patterns to be like palm trees!
Sit back and enjoy your beachscape! Make sure to share it with your fellow campers on Discord and social media too.
