Spin and twirl through space by making this paper plate mobile!
Supplies:
- Standard paper plate
- paints in spacey colors
- scissors
- glue
- a piece of string 18″ (46 CM) long
- Optional: glitter, stickers, printable space images PDF (click to open)
Instructions:
Step 1 – Paint both sides of the plate. The underside of the plate will be facing out so I suggest painting the top of the plate first to get your eye in. Paint it in whatever nebula-like style makes you happy. If you want to use glitter, add it at this point.
Step 2 – Waiting for the sides to dry is a good time to print and cut out the space images if you’re using them.
Step 3 – With the underside of the plate facing up cut the plate into a spiral. Start at the outside edge and work in.
Step 4 – Poke a hole at the center of the spiral and pull the string through. Tie the string to make a hanging loop.
Step 5 – Glue on your cut out images and whatever other decorations you choose.
Hang your spinner up and watch it twirl in the breeze!
