Welcome Campers! Welcome to the 2024 IGGPPCamp Painting Tutorial! This year we are camping among the stars so why not get a sense for what planets could be out there. This year we are creating our own planets based on the 12 zodiac signs! The design is pretty much up to you. Do you want to focus on one planet or do you want to create all 12? There are countless planets out there, and I cannot wait to see what you create!

Supplies:

  • Canvas (whatever size you prefer)
  • Brushes (various sizes or just one its up to you!)
  • Paint colors – Rainbow it! (While you can pick your shades your own try to have your basic colors- you can mix for other colors if needed!)

1. Start by preparing your canvas by painting the background black.

2. Determine where your planets are going to go. You can find the planetary alignment that suits you best. I am personally going for a centered line for my planets, and used a circle stencil I had to create the outlines for my planets. I randomized the sizes to create some difference between them, while picking out some that meant more to be to be a little bigger than the others.

3. Start painting! I used each of the sigs “colors” to create my planets. Signs like Gemini being “The Twins” got a dual planet design. There is no right or wrong way to make each planet. If you dont wish to create ones based off of the signs you do not have to. These are your planets and are yours to make!

Each of the signs have different ways of camping and creating! What is most important is that you have fun and like what you create. Create a planet or twelve that you would love to hop on a spaceship and visit! Happy Creating Campers!
