Who is a “geek girl”?

As you may guess, here at Geek Girl Pen Pals we are asked pretty frequently about who is included in the “geek girl” umbrella. Questions like “Am I geeky enough?” and “Do I have to identify as a ‘girl’ to join?” are often at the top of our list.

Here at the International Geek Girl Pen Pals Club, we want to be clear that if you are here, you are welcome. IGGPPC is trans and nonbinary inclusive, and we welcome people of all gender identities to join. Our primary mission is to be a community where those who have often been excluded from traditional “geek” spaces can find one another and build meaningful friendships with people based on their shared interests in a safe and welcoming place.

We do not gatekeep who is and isn’t “geeky enough” to be here. If you’ve got something you are passionate about and want to discuss with others, and want to build friendships through community and snail mail, you’re in the right place.

PLEASE NOTE: You MUST be at least 17 to sign up for a pen pal or to participate in IGGPPC. This is due to international safety regulations and not because we don’t love our younger geek pals.
