Where Geeks and Snail Mail Collide
The International Geek Girl Pen Pals Club, also known as the IGGPPC, is a group of worldwide geeky friends. Founded in March 2013, the club was designed to bring together the nerd community through shared interests in all things geeky, a love of stationery, and an interest in making friends.
Each month, we pair hundreds of geeky peeps with their nerdy soul mates from across the globe, using their ‘Top 5 Geek Loves’ to find their perfect match. So far, we’ve paired 30,000+ very happy pen pals. We’re proud to know that many of our pen pals have found life-long friendships through the IGGPPC, and some have even travelled overseas to meet each other!
Since that first pen pal registration, we’ve grown to a large and welcoming community, and host annual events such as our popular IGGPPCamp each August, that help foster connections worldwide and provide a respite from the stress of day-to-day with a bit of fun creativity.
Our club has brought together geeks of all ages and backgrounds to help them connect in traditional and non-traditional ways. We’re proud to be spreading positivity and friendship, and fostering a loving community online and offline.
Join us, and help create friendships among geeks, worldwide.
What we believe.
We believe that all geeks are created equal. We don’t vet people here or make you take any kind of examination to ensure you are “geeky enough” to join. We love you – exactly the way you are – and we want to encourage you to love yourself, and be yourself too! (Check out our page Who is a ‘geek girl’? for more!)
No matter what you geek out about or how much you geek out about it, all are welcome. We’re believers in positivity, the power of knowledge, growing as well-rounded people, making the world a better place, being accepting of everyone, and most of all – making friends. Our manifesto might spell it out for you a bit better. In summary, we are glad that YOU are here!

Testimonials
The outpouring of love that the IGGPPC floats in every day is nothing short of magical and we are constantly amazed by how much adoration our iggles have for the group and each other! Don’t believe us? Feast your eyes on these testimonials…
One problem I have as a modern day geek is that I’ve amassed a fantastic collection of stationery and cards, yet I have no one to send them to. The only times I’ve sent mail in the last few years has been for annual holiday cards and wedding-related stationary. So I’m thrilled with what @darlingstewie and @frogmellaink have created: An opportunity for us geeky ladies to use the postal system while making friends in the process! Finally–an excuse to buy even more fun stationary and spoil someone with all kinds of cute little geeky surprises!
What is so amazing about this community is that everyone is so very positive about who they are and what they like – and doesn’t judge anyone else because of who else they are or what else they like.
#IGGPPC Thank you for finding my soulmate/long-lost twin
Oh #IGGPPC how did you find me such an AWESOME match hey? SO EXCITED!
Winner for best idea of 2013, right here — International Geek Girl Pen Pals Club! #IGGPPC
I can’t even explain the level of love I have for #IGGPPC. I HAVE FOUND MY TRIBE!
One of the things I miss most about our pre-internet days is the art of letter writing. There used to be nothing more exciting to me than coming home to find a letter waiting for me from a close friend. Sure, I still receive the occasional postcard if one of my loved ones happens to be travelling, but receiving a handwritten letter by post is something very rare in this day and age. An email just doesn’t hold the same kind of excitement that a tangible letter does, which is why I was so excited when I found about a new project that @DarlingStewie and @frogmellaink have been working on putting together. It’s called the International Geek Girls Pen Pal Club and it pairs geek girls from around the world with one another to delve back into the world of physical post.
Dear #IGGPPC – thank you for helping me find my geek doppelganger! Who knew she lived in Cardiff?!?
Finishing up the last errands before I leave for England to visit my bestie and pen pal, @BatHobbit! #IGGPPC brought us together! ^_^
Ahhh #iggppc, one email in and I already love my pen pal to death. So excited about this project.
I feel that I am getting younger in Spirit. I have to say that I feel that this group has helped with that. Instead of just walking past certain aisles at a store, I go down them looking for fun things to send people. I look at toys with my son different too. It has been lots of fun. I just wanted to say ‘Thank you IGGPPC!”
Boy oh boy am I every excited about this one folks! This is one of those things that happens every so often in the Land of Internet that perfectly demonstrates why I love social media and it combines two of my favourite things! Snail Mail and Geekery!
I can’t remember if I’ve already tweeted about geekgirlpenpals.com but it is LITERALLY THE BEST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED. #IGGPPC
