Our staff loves finding fun new things to share with each other and with other iggles. Every month we share our Staff Picks, and we encourage YOU to share your own picks in the comments! Here’s what we picked this month. It seems like most of us are trying to stay out of the heat and binge some Netflix! We can’t wait to learn about new and exciting things from your parts of the world!

Joanna: Misty Mountains by Peter Hollens [Album]

The full title of the album is Misty Mountains: Songs Inspired by The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings and it is everything I didn’t know I wanted in an album.  The link above is for Spotify, but you can find much of the music on YouTube, too, such as this AMAZING all vocal rendition of The Song of the Lonely Mountain. It gives me chills!! I also LOVE this medley of Hobbit Drinking Songs! I can’t say enough good things about this album. Go. Listen.

Kimberlee: Ponchan is my pick. [Instagram Account]

I will leave the delight of discovering this account for you. It’s magical. It’s everything I hoped it could be. I’m sad that our house doesn’t have one. I have a baby. My baby probably needs one. Right? Because that seems responsible. I’m trying to give my little nerdling a well rounded upbringing. Expose him to many different life enhancing experiences. If I justify it enough… #ineedone

Jen: Broad City Season 2 [TV Show]

My best friend couldn’t stop recommending this show to me all last year. I finally gave in and watched the first season and quickly fell in love with the two main characters, Abbi and Ilana. Now that most television shows have wrapped up for the season I have time to catch up on this hilarious show. I just finished watching season 2 (within a few days too) and it’s even funnier than the first season.

Stewie: 10 Cloverfield Lane [Movie]

Mark and I just watched this sequel to Cloverfield. It combines a psychological thriller with an alien flick, and it kept me on the edge of my seat through and through. The aliens look super cool and I hope there is a sequel. John Goodman is fantastic. I don’t want to spoiler anything, so just watch it!

Toasty: Stranger Things [Netflix Original Show]

I’ve seen a bit of buzz about this show since I saw it pop up on Netflix. I’m not really one for scary movies and TV shows, but I’ll give anything a shot. It’s set in the 80’s and it kinda has a Broadchurch mixed with The Goonies mixed with Wayward Pines vibe. Kid goes missing in a small town, his friends try to help find him, supernatural stuff and mystery scary government science people. It definitely has some kinda scenes so far that might make me afraid to turn the lights off (I’ve only watched the first two episodes), so proceed with caution if you are easily scared!
