Something crazy is about to happen in the 8 months following “Secret Wars“!
X-Men fans – brace yourselves, because once again Marvel has announced something that will change mutant kind! Comic Book Resources announced on Monday the new creators taking over the X-Men come October; Jeff Lemire (All-New Hawkeye) and Humberto Ramos (Amazing Spider-Man) are taking on the Extraordinary X-Men in a big post “Secret Wars” storyline.
In the months following “Secret Wars” the X-Men and the Inhumans will face something they’ve never had to before – the Terrigen Mists start affecting mutants in a way we never thought possible. The Extraordinary X-Men will be a new team led by Storm, combining new and old versions of the X-Men that we love: Nightcrawler, Colossus, Iceman, Jean Grey and Old Man Logan. The Inhumans will also be impacting the storyline for this new series, but when asked just what kind of role they’d be playing, Jeff Lemire had the following to say:
“I’m not going to spoil my story, obviously, [Laughs] but I will say that in the missing eight months since “Secret Wars,” something has occurred between mutantkind and the Inhumans. A major event has occurred which has reshaped the position of both Inhumans and mutants in the Marvel Universe and repositioned them in a different way that maybe fans aren’t used to. And that’s where our story picks up and that’s the story we’re telling. Beyond saying that, I’m not going to say anything else right now.” via Comic Book Resources
The Extraordinary X-Men will be hitting shelves at your favourite comic book retailer come October, and I think it’s safe to say…mutant kind is in for something BIG!
