After a long hiatus, Heroes Reborn is back with two episodes to go and we’re not wasting any time for the end of the world.

*spoilers*

With electrical storms hitting the earth, people are loading up in case of the worst (which it is.) Luke and Malina are still headed to Odessa but Luke needs to take precautionary measures first. They end up in a Walmart and Luke buys a gun (rather easily.) He tells Malina when there’s no sun, he has no power, and he needs a backup plan, just in case.

Meanwhile, Quentin, Phoebe, and a Harris clone are on the lookout for them. For some reason Phoebe calls Malina a bitch and wants to kill her real bad. Where did that come from? That one time she got away from you? Any way, they end up finding Luke and Malina, they have a chase through a cornfield, Luke and Malina split-up only for Malina to be captured. She seems seconds away from death when Luke comes in and saves the day. Quentin seems like he’s teetering on the edge of believing Erica is right and what they’re doing is insane. Even though Quentin was the butterfly, he may end up on the good side.

Any way, Luke claims they should take Phoebe and Quentin along with them (but you won’t be able to use your powers…whatever.)

Miko and Tommy are talking in the future and Tommy remembers his 9th Wonders comic that has Miko in it and the exact conversation they were having at the time. It says Miko has to battle a clone army of Harris at Sunstone Manor and Tommy sends her there before Erica can get to her.

Erica’s ready to send Hachiro Otomo back to the present day and burn with everyone else but says she needs him, despite having doubts that he’s playing both sides. She and Tommy go back to present-Odessa so she can explain how Tommy’s going to save a group of people.

Apparently, throughout the years, Erica has been hiring some of the brightest minds on the planet (and some potential bright minds) and have gathered them in one building. Each of these people have a bracelet that is connected to a machine Erica’s lead scientist, Richard, designed. All Tommy has to do is hook up to the machine and he can send these people to the future. Still, Tommy seems a bit reluctant until Erica shows him Emily and his mother there.

On a side note, does Emily have family? Did she officially break up with her boyfriend? She’s always out with Tommy, going to Paris or wherever. Do her parents wonder about her? How could Tommy send her to the future without them?

Any way, back at Sunstone, Carlos, Farah, Taylor, and the Haitian are breaking people out while the Harris clones surround the building. Carlos and Farah find out that a recording of Matt’s voice is what’s putting them in a trance and not Matt himself. How does that work? I thought it was Matt’s powers that forced people to do something, or have they just become accustomed to it? Well they destroy the recording and everyone there seems to come back to normal. He and Farah find a group of people, with Father Mauricio there as well. Before they go find Micha Sanders, they find Jose, and everything seems to be going well.

However, while trying to break Micha out of his glass prison, Father Mauricio gets shot, which gives Carlos motivation to break the glass in one try. Micha comes out of his trance and I am, once again, so happy to see an original Heroes member. But rest in peace Padre.

Taylor and the Haitian go after Matt, who can’t use his powers with the Haitian around. Taylor tries to convince him Erica isn’t sending him to the future and Matt tries to give us a sob story about once being a good person, but his family walked out on him and I don’t care if you were in The Force Awakens, I will not feel bad for you Matt Parkman.

Matt gets the upper-hand by shooting the Haitian in the ear, cutting off his powers, and taking control of Taylor. He goes through her memories of Erica and finds out Taylor is pregnant. It’s not much of a twist since we already knew that (if you remember that pregnancy test she took in the motel room before trying to find Herotruther.) Matt plans on using Taylor as leverage towards Erica and we’ll see how well that goes.

Micha uses his powers to send a message to the entire world, every computer/TV/phone screen, to let them know of Erica and her evil plan. He reveals the truth, that Mohinder Suresh’s speech was actually a shape-shifter, and that there’s impending doom.

Outside Sunstone, Miko is ready to battle the Harris clones, but the real Harris comes out and says this battle is his. Okay, whatever, don’t use your fifty clones, but I couldn’t wait for this fight. Harris was such an annoyance (good on the actor for making me feel that every time he came on-screen) but this a redemption fight for Miko. She’s gradually disappearing, but won’t let that stop her. She gets the upper-hand for a while, then Harris has an axe to her throat. He starts monologuing and Miko thrusts her sword through her chest and into Harris. (She also cuts off his head, which was pretty awesome.)

As our group in Sunstone comes out and asks who she is, Miko said her final farewell with a fitted, “I was Katana Girl.” Miko, or video game version, you will be missed (or is this the end of Miko?)

But, we end with Erica contacting Joanne, convincing her that she did not in fact kill her son, and tasks her with killing Luke and Malina. We’ll see how that turns out (I say Luke convinces Joanne to be on his side.)

It seems that everyone’s “destinies” are lining up in Odessa, and I am a bit anxious to see how this plays out. Farah convinced Carlos to go to Odessa to find Malina. Luke and Malina are still headed there and so is Matt and Taylor. Much like the first season of Heroes, our characters somehow end up at the same place, despite being from different backgrounds and dealing with their own problems.

And there’s one big question here: what happened to Noah? Who rescued him? A past Hiro? A different version of Tommy or another character that has teleportation abilities? That answer can’t come soon enough.

What are your thoughts on the show so far? Any theories to what’s going to happen?
