I have to say I haven’t been this excited about a movie that I will probably watch between my fingers, and cut off circulation in the hand of the person I went with, in a while. I love the original Jurassic Park, but it has always been that movie that I need to limit the amount of times I see it or else there will be no sleep for a long time. The newest trailer leads me to believe that the newest Jurassic instillation, Jurassic World, will not leave me disappointed in my need for action and a good amount of jumpiness.

If you haven’t watched the newest trailer I will give you a moment to watch it and then we can geek out together.

Now for the geek out. This trailer is narrated by none other than Jurassic Park founder John Hammond (as mentioned on Coming Soon). When I heard his voice I thought to myself, “No Way!” but there’s something rather awesome about having the park founder narrate the trailer. I do not know if Mr. Hammond was planning an appearance (even briefly), but it definitely gives the movie a circular feeling, like everything from the first movie, the general aura that was hard to duplicate in the subsequent Jurassic movies, has now been returned. We have gone back to the basics and magic is possible.

The movie is set 22 years after the original Jurassic Park film. The Park has now been re-vamped and will open to the public. There are all the key features to a great Jurassic Park film: scientists trying mess with things they know nothing of, humans believing they have things in their control even though they always rely too heavily on technology, and kids. Yes, kids are a necessity in any Jurassic Park film. What is better to create suspense and an amazing thrill ride than having kids and their wits pinned against mindless (or not so mindless) animals? The best scene in the original Jurassic Park movie is the one in the kitchen. In case you forgot it I thought I should share it with you again!

The addition of the newest pair of kids, two brothers I believe, allows for some of the old feel and suspense to be created in a new way. You know from the trailer that they will be attacked by the newest man-made creation, but I look forward to seeing how they handle themselves. The other thing I look forward too is Chris Pratt and the Raptors. There have been a few previews with Chris Pratt riding a motorcycle beside a pack of Raptors and all I can say is “YES!”

The only thing I haven’t seen and keep expecting to see in a Jurassic Park is Dino Riders. Since the creation of the Jurassic series, I have been waiting for that day that you see a little girl or boy riding on the back of a Dinosaur. I figured they could use a herbivore. It would be awesome if they ever put something like that in a Jurassic movie, even if all that happens is the person riding the dinosaur gets eaten by another dinosaur. It still would rock! So if that manifests into reality you can cheer with me in the theater!

My favourite part of the whole thing? The music!

I was a big fan of the Jurassic Park theme song when the first movie came out. I learned to play it on piano even. I was so happy to hear the original 5 note tune being played in the trailers, it made it real. If all they did was show a picture of a dinosaur and play that song I would be excited. I draws me in with a feeling of anticipatory dread! So much excitement, so many nerves jumping on end.

There’s only a few more weeks wait: releasing on June 12th, we don’t have a lot of time.

If you are can’t handle waiting anymore I will key you into a little secret. You can plan your own imaginary trip to Jurassic World at Universal’s JurassicWorld.com, an interactive site with a Park Map, Ticket Information and even a spot to plan your visit.

Go check it out, have fun, and if you do decided to go on a trip to Jurassic World always be prepared! And remember, Dinosaurs are smarter than you think!
