Cast your mind back, back in the beginning, when myself and Leslie had only just launched IGGPPC and taken on Emma and Jen to help us. We put a call out to see if any companies wanted to do any giveaways/promotions with us. One of the first people to get back to us was the lovely Matthew at Insert Coin Clothing.

ICC are a UK based company who specialize in (officially licensed) game-fluenced apparel and accessories which stole our wee hearts. Seriously, I nearly had a heart attack when I saw their Sega Megadrive and Dreamcast bags! Their wares often feature logos for in game places, companies or products (like “Quantum Nuka Cola” from Fallout 3 or “Toluca Lake Tourist Info” from Silent Hill) which is rad because you are giving a subtle nod to a game you love rather than being a walking advertisement!

As they are a set of sweet peeps, they sent all four of us t-shirtS to review. As we’re in four different countries there was some delays and postal mishaps getting the shirts to us but now we have them and we are pleased as punch!
Just before we get to the reviews, I want to mention the work ICC do with a charity called SpecialEffect. In their own words: “Our mission is to enable anyone, whatever their disability, to enjoy video games and leisure technology. But we’re not just doing it for the sake of fun. By giving disabled people the means to participate, we’re kick-starting rehabilitation, self-esteem and, most importantly, inclusion.” This is a really innovative charity that is seriously improving the lives of disabled people through the joys that come from video gaming. You can find out more on their website.
Now, about those t-shirts…..
farquharson
FARQUHARSON: “Being in the UK, got mine first and I received the “Quantum Nuka Cola” shirt from Fallout 3. Now, I had never played Fallout at this point but I loved the shirt so much I got hold of a copy so I could play it (then wear the shirt so I wouldn’t feel like a fraud!) and now I am hooked! I’ve clocked over 100 hours on fallout 3 and I’m about 40 hours into New Vegas, so I want to personally thank IC for sending me my shirt, because without it I might never have gotten round to playing it! So anyway, I’ve had plenty of time to wear it in and put it through the wash a few times and let me tell you it is superb!”

EMMA: “The minute I started perusing Insert Coin, I stumbled across a Team Sonic tee and died at least six times – I was always a huge fan of Sonic as a kid and still have the game on my iPhone now! Since the lovely dudes had offered to send us a random bunch of tees, I didn’t know what to expect, but I crossed my fingers really tight and loooook what happened! It’s quite possibly the raddest shirt I own.” *Hums the Casino Night Zone tune*
jen
JEN: “I was so ridiculously excited to get my t-shirt from Insert Coin! I have a huge collection already of geeky t-shirts and not knowing which one I was going to get from them was killing me (in the best possible way!). I was so happy when I saw what shirt was in my package – ‘Zakhaev International Airport’ from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. I have played countless hours of COD games in multiplayer mode so I love wearing this shirt around!”

STEWIE: “The sporty Sonic shirt was definitely my favorite! The fabric was soft and the color blue was fantastic. The Jet Set Radio one was so much fun too and the stripes on the sleeves really gave it a fun cartoon character inspired feel. The Metal Gear Solid shirt is so clever and I do love ketchup! Overall super comfy, clever and geek chic!”
In conclusion, Insert Coin Clothing are rad! All four of us would like to offer deep thanks to Matt and everyone who works at Insert Coin for being ace and for supporting us and our geeky community. To sweeten the deal, go check them for awesome attire (and a bonus discount!)…
