I will start off with this statement… I have few fandoms that I am obsessed with, some well known (like my doll collections) and others not so much. One of my top fandom obsessions are Funko, I love Funko! I love everything there is about the Pop! lines and even the minis. I find the Pop! lines appeal to my love of cute anime, almost chibi, styles. They make me think of baby versions of all my favourite characters, and who wouldn’t want a mini version of their faves??
The other major obsession? Disney, of course. There’s something amazing about a powerhouse that now includes a large chunk of the major fandoms from Princesses and Cartoons, to the MCU to Star Wars. If you are a geek fan you probably love something about Disney, whether you want to or not.
It is well known that Funko and Disney like to team up, and they never disappoint. They have given us Adorable Baymaxs and cute Rocket Raccoons. Well now they are going to be releasing a line of Classic and Modern Disney Royalty.
All of the new collection are to be released in August. They have Classics like Aurora and Ariel but I am most excited about the Rapunzel and Tiana Pop! figures. Not only do you get an adorable Rapunzel (with the blonde hair and purple dress), but she is actually holding a frying pan (her weapon of choice) and comes with her chameleon companion, Pascal. Tiana comes with Naven in frog form (which is pretty darn cute) but you can also get my favourite character from the show Louis, the trumpet playing Crocodile, (and yes he is even holding the trumpet).
In the release they also have a collection of Pocket Pop! figrues which include the trio of Belle, Tinkerbell, and Ariel. Even more exciting for me is the trio of villains with Ursula, Classic Maleficent and the Evil Queen. I think these would make a good addition to my Funko Mini collection that hangs out on my office computer.
For an everyday companion you can now have some of the newest additions to the Funko Keychain collection with Tinkerbell, Maleficent and the Evil Queen. They are all adorably detailed, from Tinkerbell’s pompom slippers, to Maleficent’s scepter and cape, to the little Evil Queen holding a tiny red apple. I love them all but I will soon have more keychains than keys on my rings, which probably isn’t safe to drive with. So maybe you should buy them instead, then I won’t have to buy them all.
The new collection can all be found on the Funko Blog page. You should go check out their adorableness! August won’t come soon enough.
