Hey guys! It’s Elizabeth again, here to introduce this month’s books for Iggle BookWorms. I know you’re super excited to have some new reading material, so let’s jump right in! However, before we start, let me remind everyone: this year, we’re doing a reading challenge! We had such a great response to the PopSugar challenge, we decided IggleWorms would have its own. Each month we’ll be reading a book that has to do with that month’s sign up theme; for example, last month’s book had to have video games in the plot! It’s been lots of fun so far, and tons of you guys are participating in the challenges! You’ll get a code for completing each month’s challenge, so even if you can’t participate one month, you’ll still get codes for the other challenges you do in other months! This also means we won’t be continuing series for this year(at least), but we will still have our book and comic/graphic novel for every month. If you guys have any questions, just message Michelle on Twitter or Goodreads. She’s in charge of the IGGPPC reading challenge. You can also contact me on Twitter or Goodreads. 🙂 Now, on to the books!

February’s theme was chick lit/romance, and there were an endless supply of suggestions from our IggleWorms. After some very close voting on Goodreads, Eleanor & Park was finally chosen. It’s no surprise, since we read Fangirl(my favorite Rowell book so far) last year and it was a hit for the book club! If you haven’t jumped on the Rainbow Rowell boat yet, now’s your chance. She’s been SUPER popular in the literary world lately.

Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell

Two misfits.
One extraordinary love.

Eleanor… Red hair, wrong clothes. Standing behind him until he turns his head. Lying beside him until he wakes up. Making everyone else seem drabber and flatter and never good enough…Eleanor.

Park… He knows she’ll love a song before he plays it for her. He laughs at her jokes before she ever gets to the punch line. There’s a place on his chest, just below his throat, that makes her want to keep promises…Park.

Set over the course of one school year, this is the story of two star-crossed sixteen-year-olds—smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try.

February turned out to be comic book month, and we’re reading one with one of the best characters in the Marvel universe: Black Widow. Don’t deny you love her!

29 black widow

Black Widow, Vol. 1: The Finely Woven Thread by Nathan Edmondson & Phil Noto

You’ve seen Black Widow as an Avenger and even an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. But on her own time she searches for atonement for her past as a KGB assassin – in ways of which those teams just wouldn’t approve. The Black Widow goes undercover in Russia, but from its cold streets, the Hand of God reaches out to crush her…and it is as merciless as its name implies. Outmatched by the brute force of a powerful new villain, Natasha faces her deadliest test, and discovers a deadly plot unfolding that spans the entire globe. From the Marvel Universe’s darkest corners, Nathan Edmonson (Who is Jake Ellis?) and Phil Noto (Thunderbolts, X-23) bring you a new series as gorgeous and mysterious as Natasha Romanov herself!

Finally, for this month’s reading challenge, you have to read a book with hearts on the cover(to go along with the Hearts pen pal signup theme this month)! If you need any suggestions, just head over to the Goodreads page, where I’ve suggested a few and others are already posting what they’re reading. Have fun with the challenge, and tell us what you’ll be reading!

That’s it for this month! Have fun reading, and head over to either our Goodreads page or our IGGPPC forums to discuss the books! Here’s a cute cat gif to start off February the right way! ^_^
