Hello, everyday cosplayers! This round up is a very special edition featuring all things Star Wars in honor of this weekend’s Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim California, the fast approach of May the 4th (Star Wars Day!), as well as one of my favorite animated series at the moment, Star Wars Rebels. Is the Force with your wardrobe? Increase your Force powers with these fun items from a galaxy far, far away!

One of the first places I check when shopping for Star Wars is, of course, ThinkGeek. These bowling purses are a delight, with bright colors and details that bring out your inner bounty hunter or droid. They are about a foot long and have little metal feet to help prevent wear and tear, just like R2.

One of my favorite ways to add some geek chic to my wardrobe is with hair bows, and Hot Topic is one of my favorite sources. This one has Yoda’s green ears as its focal point, and I just love the different textures it has, inspired by Yoda’s costume and signature walking stick.

This adorable raglan from Torrid is done with a comic-book style capture of the most romantic moment in the Star Wars movies. Show your love for Han and Leia (and for great communication skills) with this top!

These TIE Fighter leggings from TeeFury were recommended to me by our own amazing Captain Farquharson and I have to say, they’re pretty fantastic. I love how subtle they are to the average viewer, but how obvious the pattern is for a Star Wars fan. I also appreciate that they are shades of blue and not the usual black/white or gray that most Star Wars clothing is.

I’m big on geeky jewelry, and love a good pair of earrings to accent an everyday cosplay look. I own three pairs of Star Wars earrings myself, but my favorite pair by far is this Rebel Swan set from etsy seller bytestobits. What I love about these is that they are stainless steel (so incredibly light-weight) and precision cut to make them sharp and gorgeous.

In honor of this month’s IGGPPC theme, Animation Celebration, I also want to talk about an animated character from the Star Wars universe I love: Ahsoka Tano. I was hesitant to get into Star Wars: The Clone Wars, but finally watched the entire series. It was enjoyable, but never my favorite, especially after Ahsoka’s departure.  Then last October came Star Wars Rebels, and I was hooked! Imagine my excitement when, in the first season finale, the heroes of this new series encounter non other than an adult Ahsoka. Naturally my cosplay brain started running about a thousand miles an hour (Ahsoka is on my cosplay wishlist and has been for a long time), but in the meantime, I wanted to create an everyday look inspired by my favorite Togruta.

Ahsoka Lives

Ahsoka Lives by jvolavka featuring white infinity scarves

For this look, I combined the color scheme and shape of Ahsoka’s new costume, with a sleeveless dress and knee-high boots, plus a brown belt. To evoke her head-tails, I added a blue and white infinity scarf. To top off the whole thing, I included the Jedi Swan earrings to signify her place in helping to form the new Rebel Alliance. Simple and classic for a spring or autumn former padawan!
