Owlcrate is a bi-monthly subscription box, with different subscription options sure to suit different budgets. Prices range from $29.99 (USD, monthly payment plus shipping), to $167.94 (USD, six month subscription plus shipping). Created especially for bookworms, these boxes contain “bookish” goodies inspired by popular titles. Each box also includes a hardback novel to introduce readers to more recently published works.

December 2016 Owlcrate "spoiler" postcard.

A “spoiler” postcard is included in every box. It has a design matching the theme of the month, plus descriptions of all included items. December’s postcard portrays beloved characters from stories including Harry Potter, The Chronicles of Narnia, and Game of Thronesto name a few!

Also included in each box is a pin-back button matching the theme.

The featured book for December was Of Fire and Stars by Audrey Coulthurst. This tale follows the epic adventures of Princess Denna as she deals with dangerous magic, travels far away lands, and finds herself in the midst of swoon-worthy romance.

A very cool item included with the featured book is a special letter from the author, Audrey Coulthurst, written just for Owlcrate subscribers. In it she explains her inspiration for the novel. She also encourages readers to believe in their own abilities, much like the book’s protagonist, Denna.
