Geek girls everywhere rejoice! CoverGirl is bringing us a Star Wars: The Force Awakens inspired makeup line, which so far appears to include mascaras, lipsticks and nail polish. This is exciting news for fans who have long lamented the lack of Star Wars themed makeup available to the public.

CoverGirl has not yet officially announced the line, so details are still a bit scarce. Below is what is believed to be known about the line so far, though as more details emerge we will definitely keep you up-to-date!

The Star Wars: The Force Awakens lines will diverge into a Light Side collection and a Dark side collection, featuring looks tailored for the adventurous geek girls (or guys!) who follow the dark or light side of the Force.

It appears that there may be 10 different mascaras to collect, and these also seem to feature quotes from throughout the Star Wars movie franchise. In addition to notable movie quotes, the packaging of the promotional line reveals the website address covergirl.com/starwars, which is not currently active. We can probably expect to see the site go live once CoverGirl makes an official announcement, or closer to the actual launch date of the cosmetics line.

Pat McGrath, who was has been called the ‘most influential makeup artist in the world’ by Vogue magazine, looks to be a collaborator on the CoverGirl project, and some sneak peeks of Star Wars inspired looks created by McGrath have surfaced on the ‘net. McGrath has created both a ‘Light Side’ and a ‘Dark Side’ set of looks that feature names such as “Jedi” for the Light Side, and “Empress” for the Dark Side. The photos appear to present packaged looks created by the makeup artist – meaning that they contain the makeup that she used to create the look on the model shown. If the numbering system follows along with the collectible mascaras, we can look forward to 8 different looks created by McGrath.

Knowing CoverGirl, the makeup is likely intended to be subtle and wearable, but also could allow for creating some one-of-a-kind Star Wars looks. While you’re not likely to see re-creations of Padmé or Ahsoka with what we have seen of the line so far, you should be able to create a look that is uniquely yours and reminiscent of the side of the Force that pulls at your geeky little heart.

This collection will mark the first time a Star Wars makeup line has been released by a major mainstream label since 1999, when Yves Saint Laurent released the Amidala-inspired ‘One Love’ makeup set.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters on December 18th. The CoverGirl makeup line is speculated to launch sometime in the fall. Some of the packaging shown in the photographs has a $5 off coupon to be used toward the purchase of a ticket to see The Force Awakens in theaters, too. Just in case you needed an added incentive or justification for purchasing some Star Wars makeup!
