This weekend (April 16th – 19th) is the annual Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, California, and as always it’s going to be a big source for updates and announcements about our favorite galaxy far, far away. It’s also a chance to check out some new everyday cosplay goodies coming from Her Universe!
According to the press release from the official Her Universe blog, the new collection will feature a wide variety of styles including dresses, skirts, cardigans, and tees, among other things, to add to the Star Wars clothing and jewelry already available. Let’s take a look at some of the new pieces premiering this weekend!
The first piece I want to show you is this gorgeous skirt. Ashley Eckstein is modeling it with their new glow-in-the-dark Star Wars tee, and I have to say I love how it’s styled with the petticoat to give it a more polished look, though you could easily wear it as a casual circle skirt, too. (If you need a good source for colorful petticoats, Unique Vintage is one of my favorites! You can also keep an eye out closer to Halloween or in year round costume shops for more affordable options.)
This Cloud City dress is full of pastel goodness. I also really like the different waist on this dress. Sometimes waistlines can be tricky for me, but the gathered pin-up look is generally flattering on a lot of figures. Ashely has it paired with their new X-wing cardigan and jewelry from Her Universe’s R2 My Hero collection.
I own one of their cardigans (the TARDIS version) and can tell you that they are lightweight and versatile, though I wouldn’t wear it for much extra warmth, nor around anything that might snag it. I also have a pair of the R2 My Hero earrings that I picked up at San Diego Comic-Con last year and I love them. They’re a good weight and are large enough that R2 really shows up, plus they have a little pop of crystal to make them sparkle.
The next piece made me immediately think of IGGPPC co-founder Stewie and her love of all things ewok. This adorable cross-body makes me smile, and I love the crochet ears. It could easily be added to an everyday cosplay of Endor Leia or just used as a fun purse.
The final pieces I have for you are this Battle of Hoth dress paired with an Imperial High Commander cardigan. More pastel beauty here (which if you can’t tell is a thing I totally dig) and the cardigan is a nice neutral gray color. This dress also has the pin-up style like the Cloud City dress, and I love it with the petticoat.
To see the sneak peek of the rest of the collection, including a tee and dress for the younger set, check out the full press release here. If, like me, you won’t be in Anaheim this weekend but still want the Force to be with your wardrobe, check back tomorrow for a Star Wars themed Everyday Cosplay round-up!
