OwlCrate: February 2017 – Run Away With The Circus **Spoilers**

Do you remember the magic from the first time you arrived at the circus? Well, February’s OwlCrate is a pit of curiosities and is sure to bring back all of the memories. This amazingly curated subscription box holds many beautifully crafted items (some exclusive to the box!), along with one of the most anticipated YA books of the year: Caraval!

The theme card and themed pin from the February 2017 OwlCrate

As always, the crate begins with the spoiler theme card and the collectible theme pin! These are staples in OwlCrate boxes and beautifully designed by the team there.

A playing card notebook from Attic Journals and circus themed sticky flags from Girl of all Work

First up was a very crafty item from Attic Journals. This small notebook is handmade from recycled casino playing cards and it perfect for a quick shopping list or impromptu doodle. Also in the crate were these adorable circus themed page flags from Girl of All Work. These will make great finding your place in documents or books super easy!

A candle from Frostbeard Studios and lip balm from GeekFireLabs

Two of my favorite items are up next! Made exclusively for this OwlCrate box, we have a delightful adventure for the senses. From the makers at Frostbeard Studio, we have a Le Cirque Des Rêves inspired candle. From the pages of The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern (a great read if you like the circus and magic!), this candle smells of everything you remember from the circus, a bonfire on a summer night, sticky caramel corn, and roasting chestnuts. The scent is enough to transport anyone back to those summer days even in the middle of winter.

And what is better in the middle of winter than some lip balm? I will tell you, a lip balm that smells like cinnamon donuts! The folks at GeekFireLabs did a great job of capturing the sweet yet spicy scent of a fresh from the fryer, coated in cinnamon and sugar, donut! Yum!

A tote bag featuring The Night Circus from Evie Bookish.

In what I think is the most valuable item from the February OwlCrate, we have an exclusive tote bag from Evie Bookish! Featuring a quote from The Night Circus and beautiful imagery of the magic of the circus. The tote bag is plenty big to haul all of your current reading material and has long straps to easily sling it over your shoulder.

The book Caraval by Stephanie Garber with a signed book plate and a letter from the author.

And under the big top, a sight to be seen! One of the most buzzed about YA novels of 2017, it wasn’t too hard to guess what book would be included in a crate themed “Run Away With The Circus.” Caraval, the debut novel from Stephanie Garber, follows two young girls as they run away and discover the joys, wonder, and danger of the circus. Included with the book are a signed nameplate, a letter from the author about her inspiration for the novel and a sneak peek of two audiobooks including Caraval!

A picture of everything included in the February 2017 OwlCrate.

All in all, I think this month is one of the best YA subscription boxes I have received. Everything about the crate screamed circus, and the quality and thoughtfulness of the included items were definitely worth the price tag.

A small number of February’s OwlCrate are still available for purchase over at OwlCrate.com.

Next Up: Sailors, Ships, & Seas…oh my!
