There’s nothing better than a good ghost story when you’re sitting around the campfire. Let’s stoke the fire, pull up a chair, and get ready to swap our best spooky tales.

It was a dark and stormy night…

…and, as we snuggle in our blanket forts, the time has come for YOU to share your campfire ghost story with us! Grab a s’more, a flashlight, and spin us a spooky yarn! Whether it’s a tale of creeping horror, haunted cabins, wraiths on the moors, WHATEVER, let your imagination run wild. Over the next three days (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) Cabin Coordinator Whatsit will be accepting short ghost stories of 1,000 to 10,000 word length. Ghosts are not required but stories containing any of the following prompts will receive additional points. The story prompts may be found HERE.

Of the submissions, three winning stories will be chosen, placing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. The three (ghost)writers will be announced as winners on Monday, August 19th, and their stories published on the +5 Charisma blog. The winners will also receive special badges for their placing in the competition.

Pull out that dusty, probably haunted, typewriter and invoke the muse because the clock is ticking! Stories must be submitted by Sunday, August 18th, at 1:00AM CDT. Remember, when you’ve finished, submit your story via this Google Form.
